Ashgate High Peak Trail sponsored walk 2026
Yesterday 12 of our members turned out to support the 17 mile Ashgate Hospice High Peak Trail charity walk. We provided event communications over the 17 mile stretch of the High Peak Trail.
Due to the rolling hills and high peaks in the area there have always been areas where communicating back to the control area has been difficult with both two way radios and mobile phones. This year we used our new second repeater, linked to our primary repeater via satellite with great success.
Combing our new linked repeater with our updated DMR and logging software we were able to talk to, record and track our members over the route from control (even in the areas where mobile phones where failing).
